Ik begon rechts in mijn schetsboek met het tekenen van verschillende randjes om later te gebruiken in een werkstuk. Achteraf vulde ik aan met nog maar eens kevertjes. Ik had ze eigenlijk nog nooit in zwart-wit getekend en vind ze wel geslaagd. Een korte zin kon er ook nog bij en een blok tekst met een opsomming van uitgestorven insecten. De linkerpagina sluit qua onderwerp aan op de rechter. Eerst een grote kever zoals je ze soms ziet op oude schoolprenten, een tekst over wetenschappelijke naamgeving, een tekeningetje van 'the circle of life' en nog enkele poëtische pareltjes.
