We hebben in de voorbije periode kunnen genieten van heel erg warme temperaturen en dan MOET ik naar buiten! Ik ben dus vooral aan het werk geweest in de tuin: zaaien, snoeien, planten, vruchten plukken... En natuurlijk heb ik ook buiten getekend. Al die verschillende bloemvormen gaven me enorm veel inspiratie. Dus ben ik in mijn schetsboek begonnen met het tekenen van een patroon. Ik wist begot niet waartoe het zou leiden en dat is net zo plezant. Hieronder zie je de aanzet, eerst in potlood, dan overgetekend met fijne zwarte stift. En geen enkele bloem of blaadje is hetzelfde. Op de tweede foto zie je het volledig afgewerkte blad. Ik was de week ervoor bezig geweest met bladgoud vond het een leuk idee om alle hartjes in het goud te zetten. Doordat ik graag met gesso werk hebben ze een mooi reliëf gekregen en kan ik ze een extreem hoge glans geven door ze te polijsten.
We have been enjoying very high temperatures over the last few weeks and on days like that, I CAN'T stay in the house! I've been working in the garden: sowing, pruning, planting, picking fruit... And of course I've also been drawing outside. All those different shapes of flowers gave me a lot of inspiration. So I started drawing a pattern in my sketchbook. I didn't know what it would lead me to and that is ever so exciting! Below you can see the start of this drawing: first sketching with pencil, then traced over using a black fineliner. Not one flower or leaf is the same. On the second picture you can see the finished drawing. The week before I had been working with gold leaf. I found it a nice idea to put golden dots in every heart of every flower. Because I like to work with gesso, they have a nice relievo and I can give them an extremely high gloss by burnishing them.
