This is a - nearly finished - drawing from a collection of bottle caps. I only used 3 different sizes of black pigment liners. Why did I choose for crown corks? Because there's such a big variety of type in them. It made me reflect on the fact that every design, how simple it may look, is carefully thought of. And there's only limited space! I learned a lot about type by making this drawing.

With the floral explosion of an extraordinary spring, our garden is like paradise. I had the irresistible urge to make a painting of this abundant amount of greens and bright colors. So here is the final print! I'm very happy with the colors. I was inspired by our own garden but also by old Indian embroideries. These prints are available through my Etsy shop. Nothing like writing a card to a dear abroad friend while sipping a good cup of coffee and listening to songs on the radio. I'm not a big writer and I'm not a staunch coffee drinker but the combination of these three things makes it fun!

The Poplar Admiral (Limenitis populi) has disappeared from Flanders since 1957. He is still found in some places in Wallonia. I can't bear to think of how many beautiful species have disappeared or will disappear within the not too distant future. The only thing I can do is eternalize them by painting them.

I 'm very happy that these beetles and butterfly all have found a new home and are in loving hands. Time to make new series of tiny creatures!

Whistling wind, cracking branches, sodden streets and gray skies. Beautiful poems but I'm yearning for a new spring. I have been working very hard these past few weeks, have finished a commission of tiny bugs and butterflies and they're ready to find their new owners.
