Third International Calligraphy Exhibition in Bruges, 1989.
For several years, an exhibition about lettering art was set up in a beautifully restored house in a small dead-end street in Bruges, Belgium. Every three years, during summer, people could visit this internationally renowned exhibit and enjoy a magnificent setting. If I'm not mistaken, there have been 8 exhibitions in total. A select gathering of internationally renown calligraphers and letter carvers as such had never happened before.

Last summer, I was teaching a workshop in Bruges, more specifically in the 'European Lettering Institute', guided by Lieve Cornil and her team. The group of participants consisted of Americans, two people from Finland and a lady from Paris. It was a blissful workshop on a nice location where we all were being pampered. I was then asked by a Finnish student for an interview for their calligraphy magazine. Last week I received the magazine and I must say it looks great with a neat layout.

I am very proud to have a big story in "The Alphabet", the journal of the friends of calligraphy, based in San Francisco, California, USA. Carl Roars did a great job, not only with the articles but also with the black cut-out alphabet cover: beautiful!
